Clay Creations by Cherrie specializes in handcrafted
clay flowers. These flowers are created and crafted
using Clay Craft by Deco Soft Clay which is a type of
modeling clay from Japan. The clay is air dried.
Each flower is intricately made petal by petal to
create life-like blossoms. The artwork may look
delicate but they are durable and will maintain their
beauty for years to come.
Clay Creations by Cherrie is a new company
established in Hawaii where the Deco Clay Craft
Academy is located. Rosario Cruz, the owner of the
company whom her family & friends fondly call
"Cherrie" works at her home studio where she does
her clay creations. As a certified Deco Clay
Academy Instructor she teaches crafters & people
who take interest in this hobby with the same
curriculum the academy has taught her.
With a background in fashion design, Clay Creations
by Cherrie also creates Clay Fashion; one of a kind
expressions of her love for haute couture. She was
featured in a local newspaper "Hawaii Filipino
Chronicle" as Hawaii's Top Filipino Designer.
Although fashion design is her first love, creating
lifelike clay flowers comes second. After thirty two
years in the fashion business, she has decided to go
full-time into Clay Creations with haute couture on
the side.
Meeting the founder of Deco Clay Sensei Kazuko Miyai and training under her daughter Yukiko Miyai was an honor and give Cherrie a lot of inspiration to pursue a career in Clay Creation.
During November 2007, Cherrie created a one-of-a-kind wedding gown that was exhibited at Macy's Ala Moana.
